Alex Pimentel Strange the same Title 42 is in place as it was under Trump. Guess it’s the bad Boarder Patrols that aren’t doing their jobs. Maybe it’s also the fact that the cruelty of the last administration isn’t putting children in cages, forcing immigrants to stay on the border line in other countries. Since the last administration added $7.8 Trillion Dollars to the National Debt, & did NOTHING for the average American why can’t we afford to help the needy, the homeless families & immigrants? You Selfish, self centered TRUMPLICANS are all Immigrants. I’m rather sure You aren’t Native Indian. The US was built by immigrants, seems we didn’t have a real problem until Trump, his hate & lies!

Michele Isil Mills I happen to live in a sanctuary city that has been taking more then their share for years. Immigrants don’t just come in through the southern border, they come from all over the world. Lets dump some on the red states for the winter out of spite… stick it to the cons. That’s how the game is played, right?
Your argument goes out the windows when you realize these Texas immigrants were not a Florida problem in the least bit. If he can’t handle the problems in his state then maybe he should try another line of work.

Denise Brouillette how much do you think FL, TX, AZ etc are spending to house, cloth, fed, provide education and food to over 2 MILLION ppl who have crossed the border unfettered in the last 18 months? The planes look like a bargain - why do those in favor of sanctuary cities / states have an issue with those flooding thru our open borders going to those states. Oh yeah - virtue signaling caught up to the rhetoric - all those crossing the border should be sent to those cities and states that get fed money for being a sanctuary location - period. Why should the states who take border security seriously as their citizens are being harmed bear the burden of this administration’s failed policies?

Vivian Clark Biden has been diverting money left and right. He signed an executive order to give money to people that willingly take out loans for education. He could have gotten more bang for the buck to invest that in community colleges and trade schools. Everyday an illegal immigrant receives a government handout, that is taking money away from American citizens. That money could go towards creating programs to help those on government assistance and stand on their own. He diverts billions to Ukraine while decreasing our military. He is sending billions to several countries under USDA when we have farmers that are struggling to stay afloat. You are right. The money that these states are spending on transportation should not be and is unfair, but when the federal government is the root of the problem, then they have no choice but to find a solution. However much it costs, is cheaper than them being sponges in Florida and Texas

Barb Edwards oh Barb. Please do tell in detail how the former president gutted the asylum seekers program. We will wait. the gas lighting. It’s frankly pathetic now. So - you support 2 MILLION illegal crossing - unfettered, unvaxed etc? Where do you live? Let’s get some buses headed your way so you can put YOUR money where your mouth is. This is a dangerous and economically not feasible. We are the only country with an open border. Ludicrous at best - its Biden politics. Rather than admit the former presidents policies were working - he put a stop to them all and will let us burn. ( the Dems quite literally let us burn). Any credibility virtue signaling sanctuary cities had is lost as they complain about 50 to house. The hypocrisy is astounding. Again - I’ll wait on how asylum seeker program was gutted.

Paul Terry Diehl Jr. Again.... You're talking about 3 years of backlogged asylum seekers, I have no doubts there are a lot, that doesn't change the facts, there's no solution that works unless you want to go through south America propping up nations. They're seeking a better life for themselves and they're less of a security risk than any republican.

What's your biggest gripe with them? Crime? They have lower crime rates than actual Americans, job competition? They're taking mostly menial jobs that pay next to nothing and they work hard. I just don't understand that being your focus rather than making your life better

Mary Morrison The link that you shared is irrelevant. It doesn't go into any detail, such as the possibility that they could be given a court date at a later date, which is why an accurate current address is so important. But DeSantis's brown shirts randomly picked addresses all over the country for these asylum seekers, thus making their future court dates impossible for them to make. Also, regardless of what CBP chooses to do with these asylum seekers, they did what our law requires. They presented themselves to border agents and requested asylum. It is not their responsibility to make the agency do their job as you think it should be done. Let's also not forget that the US contributed to the horrendous conditions that they are fleeing.....as with many other Southern & Central American countries. Maybe if our government and the CIA had not tried to overthrow their elected leaders in various coups and then impose unwarranted sanctions when we fail at the coups, these HUMAN BEINGS wouldn't need to flee their country. Do you think that these HUMAN BEINGS walked hundreds of thousands of miles through dangerous and inhospitable conditions for the fun of it?

Jonathan Ledezma What is it you think I’m doing that’s immoral? I’d really like to know. I’m retired, I put in my 40 years. I go to church every Sunday and usher once a month, I’ve been living in the same house since 1996 and I am currently doing volunteer work in the neighborhood associated with awarding the yard of the month. I also monitor the water quality in a creek that runs into White Rock Lake, I volunteer at the food bank and occasionally help out the local master naturalists with trail maintenance. In my spare time I’m taking a botany class because I want to be a better gardener. Which one of those activities do you find immoral? I’m betting that we agree on more things than we disagree with on and if we can just remember how to employ common courtesy we could all live in peace.

Jesus Vasquez I’m in Del Rio assisting with asylum requests. I think I’ve probably met a few more than you. Have Guatemalan family and children. The problem is you are assuming something when you have no idea.
Lol my glibness that I object to my country telling people to come and then letting them drown or releasing them into border towns with no support is gross?

How about your hypocrisy. That’s really gross as these are lives that are drowning not theoretical non objects. If we can’t do it right then we better step it up and when o say we I mean Biden and his admin.

Don’t come at me with “gross” you virtue signaler ( I filmed people so I know) come on down to the Del Rio sector we can give you some video of where these people are living pathetic

Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
“Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!” cries she
With silent lips. “Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”
