Did Elon ever say he was doing away with all content moderation? He’s even assured the public multiple times that content moderation is still a priority.
His main change will be to prevent government agencies from influencing what constitutes misinformation and gets blocked from being shared on Twitter.
The most popular example is the NY Post article about Hunter Biden and the contents of his laptop. Twitter and Facebook were convinced to treat the story as fake, even though it was proven to be true. So they intentionally suppressed actual news because it cast a bad light on the ruling democrat party.
How is that the trait of a communication platform that is supposed to be politically neutral??

When Elon attempted to back out of the deal because he was not getting accurate statistics on actual human users, Twitter sued him to complete the purchase. And besides, you stated your opinions as facts.
You have NO idea how much analysis he did of Twitter’s finances.
And you have no evidence to support the notion that he’s trying to appease the conservative political base. Just because conservatives are pleased that Twitter hopefully won’t cater to the woke mob anymore doesn’t mean he did it as a way to appease them.
I think he witnessed too many instances of rules being applied to conservative voices but not liberal or left-leaning voices.

Musk bought Twitter for 44 billion, a company that’s not making money, and became more worthless when he showed interest in buying it. He fires thousands of employees, tweets conspiracies and then removes the tweet. Since he purchased Twitter, extremism, antisemitism hate etc. is on the rise. Now, because of his poor business decisions in a company that loses money, he wants to charge users money for a verification checkmark? Fat chance. While sensible users are leaving, his support of the right wing and their so-called freedom of speech will make Twitter worthless. I’m glad that Musk and the right wingers he supports are destroying it.

Mark Johnson there are added features with the blue check. Twitter will be charging for the extra features, not the identifying mark itself. Facebook, LinkedIn etc etc all charge more for added features. Why don’t people get this? I know… because media and leftists want to control all speech and narrative so they must make Musk a villain. The boogeyman, if you will. Simpletons. The expectation to use a megaphone owned by a private company for free with added features to boot to promote your own brand and increase your own profits is nothing more than self entitlement and hypocritical. Bob Reap I see no evidence that he “blew it”. All I’ve read and heard is:
1) he has stated there have been no changes to the content moderation rules since he took over,
2) a coalition of advertisers paused their ad spending on Twitter due to “content moderation concerns”.
If he has assured people that the content moderation has not changed, why would the advertisers have any grounds to be concerned??
This is nothing more than a political stunt orchestrated by people who want nothing more than to ruin a rich White man. These are the same people who claim to care about democracy but are the first ones to trample on the First Amendment to suppress any speech they disagree with.
