You wish ! Clearly you and Hannity didn't see the fact checking by Shepard Smith on Fox News after Trump's speech. See this thread

Odd that a Fox commentator basically says that Trump's statement was peppered with lies and inaccuracies. Now, on balance who did better, the lying president who peddled the same story that he has been running out for months now and which we all know to be fundamentally untrue, or the two Democrats who provided the corrections. Oh and don't forget, Republicans passed an appropriations bill last year that would have kept the government functioning, but Trump refused to sign it because he wanted an extra $5.6Bn for his wall.

Reason that those along the border do not want a wall, as stated in the article, is because there is no personal gain from it, only personal loss. Many ranchers are being offered little compensation to loss of land value with the government purchase. This also means that cattle that travel back and forth freely from USA and MEXICO will no longer be able to roam.

Ranchers along the border have always disagreed with government making offers for their land/property, and they always will no matter who is in charge. Same thing happened during the Obama Administration and prior administrations as well.

If the wall did not directly impact the ranchers personally, they would not care. And not just the wall, anytime anything impacts a person directly that goes against them, they will not be for it...well the majority of the people.

Because past administrations called for it, the majority wanted it then, and those who lived there still didn't, so should we have built the wall?

Seems like in the past that no matter if the people were for it, or like now who are against it, it boils down to the property owners. It does not matter if the people call for it or not. If the government were to seize the land to build the wall, there will be retaliation with or without the majority's support. Those ranchers will not sell their land if they do not make a huge profit from it, much less letting the government take it from them.
