BREAKING: Justice Sonia Sotomayor issues a scathing rebuke after the MAGA-controlled Supreme Court rubber-stamps Donald Trump's fascist blueprint to allow federal officers to conduct immigration stops in Los Angeles.

This court is rotten to its core...

“We should not have to live in a country where the Government can seize anyone who looks Latino, speaks Spanish, and appears to work a low wage job. Rather than stand idly by while our constitutional freedoms are lost, I dissent,” wrote Sotomayor.

She is the first Hispanic person to ever serve on the nation's highest court. The two remaining liberal justices, Elena Kagan and Ketanji Brown Jackson, joined her in her dissent.

Sotamayor wrote that the Constitution's Fourth Amendment clearly protects people against unlawful searches and seizures and should be applied to everyone on American soil.

"After today, that may no longer be true for those who happen to look a certain way, speak a certain way, and appear to work a certain type of legitimate job that pays very little," she stated.

The court's outrageous decision means that a ruling by U.S. District Judge Maame Ewusi-Mensah Frimpong will be placed on hold. Frimpong had held that immigration agents can't be permitted to stop people simply because of race, ethnicity, because they speak Spanish, or because of where they work or congregate. Such racial profiling is clearly a violation of their rights.

This ruling represents a dangerous step towards the white Christian Nationalist America that MAGA is building towards. Republicans want everyone else to feel like second class citizens in this country and their escalating immigration crackdowns are designed solely to terrorize minority communities and delight racists.

When Democrats retake the White House, we need to seriously discuss expanding the court. These right-wing judges are ignoring the will of the people to enact the agenda of billionaires and bigots. It's time to fight back.

Stefanie Carter Dipshit’s tariffs cost my husband his job in his first term in 2019…..last 4 years were obviously weird with Covid….but specifically last 2 years my business made more money than I had in like 5 years….now…with prices rising, trying to pay for my sons college tuition, and trying to pay off $5000 for a hand surgery I had in June despite the fact my private insurance is over $10k a year, I can see money diminishing faster than I have in a while. Because of Trump, medical debt now affects credit and because of Trump, all of our insurance premiums will go up even more. Everything costs more, within a couple years our electricity costs will possibly exceed our mortgages and Trump has done everything he can to make sure to protect corporations instead of consumers…

He fucking sucks. Our tax dollars are paying to round up people with no due process by randos in masks, we are a Global embarrassment, it is less safe to be a woman now than it has been for the last 50 years and after working my ass off in this country for the last 35 years, instead of retirement planning I get to figure out how to relocate my kids to a sane place where being a Nazi is still frowned upon as it should be, my daughter can have a right to not die from a miscarriage or better yet be investigated for one, and both of my kids can have opportunity in a country where 30% of the population isn’t so brainwashed they think a rapist, insurrectionist, pedophile, 34 X felon and pathological liar should be running the country. Not one thing he says is true, he makes up his own data, he breaks laws with every action he takes….fucking wake up!

You mean after recovery from a world wide shutdown and viral pandemic that killed millions and being considered the fastest and best recovery of any other nation? After Donald Trump put a pause on the initial response saying to his followers that it was the flu and it would be gone by spring. Trump is now taking credit for Warp speed but at the same time calling COVID 19 a Democrat hoax and destroying the reputation of the lead virologist because he didn't like the Data. But he wants a Nobel peace prize for stopping wars with the countries at war telling him to shut up stock market was at 19,000 when Trump's first term ended and Biden finished at 44,000. That's called a Biden recovery. Like every Republican Trump has destroyed our economy. Prices going up and no gas at $1.98 anywhere in the country. Trump's "eggs" comments were ridiculous because the egg issue was a contamination issue not a government issue. There was a shortage because the inventory was contaminated and had to be recalled and destroyed. The inventory is back but the price is because Trump's tariffs are destroying our trade policies. Corporations are saying the prices are being adjusted due to tariff costs and Trump is saying pay no attention to the truth behind the curtain.

Frankie Flanders It’s so hilarious how you people lack so much knowledge, education, and common sense! It’s truly embarrassing Let me help you out! Pay attention.

Trump’s first term “looked” like it produced bigger income gains, but let’s not forget the context. He inherited one of the longest economic expansions in U.S. history from Obama, who pulled the country out of the Great Recession and set the stage for steady growth. Trump was riding Obama’s wave, not creating one from scratch.

Biden, on the other hand, came in during a once-in-a-century pandemic (caused in large part by the negligence of the Trump administration) and had to rebuild from an economy that literally shut down. Despite that, incomes were still up, unemployment was near record lows, and inflation (which spiked worldwide, not just in the U.S.) had cooled.

Now in Trump’s second term, the economy looks shakier: job growth has slowed (with recent revisions showing 900k fewer jobs than thought), unemployment ticked up to 4.3%, and tariffs are costing households about $2,300 a year in higher prices. GDP popped 3% last quarter, but that’s largely tariff-driven and masking real strain. Virtually eliminating all progress AGAIN!

Sharmila Chakravarti oh god. you poor people are so badly brainwashed. i’m not even going to argue ill just give you the cold hard facts that CNN would never explain to their viewers. ok, let’s analyze Obama’s numbers quick while taking into account the fact that he had 2 consecutive terms. so, the US median income when Obama took office was 70,070. when he left office, 8 years later, it was 76,710–that’s an increase of about 6,700. yes, that sounds great but remember, this figure reflects an 8 YEAR TERM so, it’s not THAT great. we need to divide that by 2 which gives us approx 3,350 per 4 year term. now when you compare that to Trump’s first term, (+4,870) you can clearly see the median income during Trump’s first term rose at a faster rate than during the Obama administration as well as during the Biden administration.

Ashley Huntley, can you refute the data I shared factually and statistically? You’re losing with the median annual income increased from 3% to 4.6%, inflation from 3.4% when Trump took office to 2.7% today and gas is down from last year on this day of $3.270 to $3.193? Also, if you have retirement investments you just had three record breaking days in the Markets. With that said, I truly do not believe your claim other than being your own fault because there are no metrics to back your claim.

What’s interesting is you know this without using statistics which tells me you’re just repeating the anti Trump media.

That’s because the Rich did not get significantly Richer. The median income will rise in the Drumpf administration, but so will the prices of everything, and the poor plus middle class will remain stagnant. Your interest rates will go down, and while you save hundreds of on credit card debt, elites save millions when buying housing units and buildings for rental. Tell your kids to be prepared for 3k one bedroom apartments, and an increase in gambling epidemic. They shouldn’t have to suffer for too long, being that plastics are being found in the brains of dead people at what will become alarming rates.

Ian Griffiths I Overview

+3
Official US Census Bureau data does not support the claim that median household income increased by 9.7% under Trump. The specific figure is not found in federal data sources, and the actual increase was much lower when properly measured.
Key facts about the median household income during Trump's presidency (2017–2020):
The total increase was lower: When comparing inflation-adjusted figures from 2016 and 2019, the median household income grew, but not by 9.7%. Data from the Federal Reserve shows that median family income, adjusted for inflation, rose by 5% between 2016 and 2019.
A major portion of the income growth

Frankie Flanders I loathe Trump so much no scale can measure it, but you’re right. Actually, you’re wrong - it increased by more than 4x Biden’s numbers. So, all the people telling you you’re wrong didn’t bother to check. However, the economy is complex and that has to be balanced against Biden’s numbers this way: During Trump’s final year, median income actually dropped. That means Biden inherited a bad economy, so that tempers the “poor” growth - it takes time to turn the U.S. economy around. You can mess it up in a hurry, but there’s no quick fix to improvement. And you have to temper Trump’s poor final year with the fact that COVID screwed things up - you can’t fairly hang all all economic woes on him. Nothing is clear cut - although current indicators are that Trump is on the verge of the quick screwup of the economy.

10ºThat's not entirely accurate. According to the Census Bureau data, median household income didn't quite match the rise you mentioned under the Biden administration. Here's what we know¹:
- *Median Household Income Change:*
- Under President Biden's first term, median household income rose by $551, adjusted for inflation.
- In contrast, during President Trump's first term, median household income increased by $6,400, adjusted for inflation.

Additionally, some reports suggest that real median household income actually declined during Biden's first two years in office, specifically from $76,330 to $74,580 in 2022-dollar terms, due to high inflation.²

It's worth noting that economic data can be complex, and different sources may present varying perspectives on the same issue. If you're looking for more up-to-date information, I recommend checking the latest reports from the Census Bureau or other reputable sources.
