1ºDarrell L. Monette it's strange that you ignore the fact race has nothing to do with this incident yet cnn felt the need to put in it the story. The people who killed the guy are being brought to justice. Of course, had the guy not been a criminal and broken the law he wouldn't have been in jail and wouldn't have died in the first place. That being said, I've worked jails. This guy 1000% did something that resulted in him getting beat. Did he deserve to die? No. Did his own actions land him where they did? Absolutely.

The hit-and-run crash happened in Gulfport, Florida, when a 22-year-old man, speeding while drunk, hit and killed a 38-year-old woman riding an E-bike.

He then continued driving for about eight blocks with her body lodged on his windshield before she was dislodged, leaving her body in the street.
Xavier Omar Rigby was driving a 2021 Nissan Altima while Kjersten Aileen-Hermance Strang was riding her E-bike in the curb lane at the time of the crash
Police say Rigby drove up to the intersection at a high rate of speed. His vehicle hit Strang, ejecting her from the bike and causing her body to land on the windshield of the Altima.

Rigby continued driving south for about eight blocks. Strang's body was eventually dislodged from the vehicle and left on the roadway.
Rigby fled the scene without helping Strang or calling emergency services.
Strang was pronounced dead at the location.
Rigby was located shortly after, arrested, and transported to Pinellas County Jail. He refused sobriety tests and did not cooperate with investigators.

Rigby faces multiple felony charges, including:
DUI manslaughter.
Vehicular homicide (leaving the scene).
Leaving the scene of a crash involving death.
Rigby has a lengthy history of traffic violations including speeding, reckless driving, open container, leaving the scene, driving on the wrong side of the highway, property damage, no insurance, DUI, possession of marijuana etc.
