Child support is determined by how the children would would normally live in a two parent household based on the parents income, too many people don't understand this. 200k a month for 4 kids with their joint income is actually comedic.
Support is practically non existent for working people, and the threat of retribution aka violence is much higher so many parents forgo support altogether at the kids expense.
He set the bar and then took the crazy train out when things weren't going his way anymore. Hard to feel sorry for him considering his very public choices. This man can afford the best lawyers yet keeps sabotaging himself and his children's futures.
I'm not saying 200k a month is not ridiculous, I'm saying this is what happens when you play the game set yourself up thinking you can't be touched.

Geoffrey Moore FYI, 37.93 million people live below the poverty line in the US. That's more than 11% of our population that live on less than $25 a day.
Median income is ~$50k/year in the US and the income inequality in the US has been rising, and is currently sky high.
Around the top 5% of Americans make more than $200k/year. 1% is over $600k/year.
Most European countries have hardly anyone living below the poverty line. Sweden for example is like 0.6% of their population.
The middle class in America has been shrinking for 50 years, and something needs to be done about it.

Really sad. It’s pathetic that someone who is a billionaire ($1.8B to be exact) and can take care all of her kids’ needs plus million other kids, asks for anything more than split kids’ essential expenses(real expenses…school, food, etc). It’s not $200K/month.
I actually thought Kim would pay Kanye after divorce, especially with his recent losses. Makes no sense and definitely Kim not showing she can do it on her own, even though she can. What a role model for other girls I could be wrong but Khloe didn’t even want money from ex for kid’s birthday.

Congress needs to rid the Incompetent States of Child support Laws! It doesn't take $200,000 to raise a kid. That's why No one will be getting Married or want to have kids. The States choices are bad for this Country. No Man should be asked to pay more than 50% of what it will cost to raise a kid. 50% of a dream is not what is needed! The States have Sabotaged Marriage and child bearing with providing inventives for Women to leave and take the Children. It also increases crime rates and does nothing good for All American Children!

You agree with what? That $200,000 a month is a lot of money? Compared to what? And to WHOM is it a lot of money? You? What in the world does the funding of schools have to do with a specific court order or agreement on child support amounts? You don't know. How was this amount determined? I know. You have no idea. So if YOU ever get a divorce and are awarded $1000 a month in child support, some homeless person with no income should say "That's a lot of money, it would better go toward feeding hungry people." Folks who are mentioning he is the father and he should help with the kids, my question is, who said he wasn't going to help? Didn't he buy a house next to Kim to be closer to his kids after the divorce? Or in your mind he's crazy and a stalker for that? Also, how do you know Kim is always had the kids? Because the media shows that? I see more pictures of Kim in swimsuits than with the kids. I'm pretty sure her and Kanye are paying people to watch the kids and help them with whatever they need help with.

Thomas Robert oh really? That’s interesting of you to say but no I actually don’t watch the show at all. I mean it doesn’t take a genius to figure out that they more than likely had a signed agreement prior to tying the knot and I’m sure this was in it. So do you just really like Kanye West or do you just really hate women activists? I bet you I know which one it is. Sorry, I just think if two people make a baby then two people are responsible for that baby. Child support is based on income oh well.

The same people upset about this are the ones that don’t want to “tax the rich” because they think their upper middle class family will be affected apparently no one realizes how many absurdly rich people live in this county. Don’t hate on Kim because you cannot fathom what she needs $200k for to support 4 kids. They make the money, let them spend it however they want. If you are upset in the comments about all the good a fraction of that money would do for schools etc., write to your local representatives and stop thinking commenting on some clickbait, sensationalized drama is going to make a difference

Joy Cook Bouget you have no idea of the costs of raising a child involve more than bringing them to school. What about electric bills? Heating their house? Has to drive them to and from their activities? Internet? Computer for their school? And as long as we mention school, private school costs, tutors, after school activities. Travel, vacations. What if your kids are invited to a birthday party for a friend, who buys the present? Dental costs pediatrician checkups, medicine if they are sick, orthodontics. Once they are 16, driving lessons, insurance for teenage drivers, the list can go on. You think raising a kid is feed them and buying some clothes? Think again and don’t criticize any woman who receives child support to raise their children.
