The question never was whether he was guilty of anything militarily, just what they'll do about it. So, no news. On a side note, since they mention it in the article... Beside the soldiers, of the 170 who died in the bombing at the airport, we've never been told how many of those were Americans? I don't believe the bomb and the shrapnel steered around Americans that were there trying to get in just as Afghan citizens were. We've also not been told, when it was known and being openly communicated that an attack was imminent, why were our soldiers left in vulnerable positions? Truth still hasn't made it to the surface.

Doesn't mean he's wrong about how they handled Afghanistan withdrawal in the worst way they possibly could have and many people died because of them. To me, that is disrespectful to the people who died and their families. It is absolutely shameful and indefensible the way they handled things in Afghanistan. They can try and demonize Scheller but it doesn't take away the fact that they were the true evil and or stupidity in this situation. You the people in government, making the decisions you did in regards to Afghanistan withdrawal, made the wrong choices and utterly failed and cost the lives of people who would still be here if not for your bad decisions, and that includes you Biden.

As a veteran of 4 years in the army during the Vietnam war era, I have mixed feelings about this situation. He has paid his dues to America in service and sacrifice, unlike I'd bet most posting here, and while I do not agree with what he did, the justice he receives for his actions should be tempered with a consideration of his entire record from military members who have been there. His rejection of an attempt by draft dodger Trump and his non-veteran son to take advantage of the situation to further divide Americans says a lot to me about his core values.

If trump and pompi had of handled that many people could not have been saved.President Biden and the Generals handled it better than trump would have.this was something No one could undo considering the way pompi handled it.there were tallyban all through the city before Biden even got into office.it could have gotten many more killed if trump had of handled it.his way.he had no experience.leaving soldiers there was not in the cards 25000 left there compare that to over 35000 tallyban.then there isiel anAquider out surrounding cobble.the troops are out we just have to keep the UN involved by getting food and cash to the afgan people.Turkey should help the people leaving their homes by flying them to other country's in the region where its safe where they are safe.

I respect this man and sticking up for his troops and the Marine Corps. I respect him even more for separating himself from Trump who was just looking to cash in on some political points. However, as a military officer you just can’t subvert the chain of command. For those of you who have never served you can’t and won’t understand this. But his actions while noble has far reaching implications. You may not like what your commanding officers are saying or doing but you have a duty to shut your mouth, salute, and carry out the order without hesitation, complaint or opinion.

I support him - sometimes you just have to stand up for what is just and right. I know a lot of ppl are upset he went outside the chain of command. How many are upset for the 20 years spent there the lives lost and those injured just to hand it over? They paid a high price. We didn't just hand over the country, we supplied an army with high tech weapons, equipment, working military base, runway. Don't forget - we paid about 80 - 90 billion for all of that and it was turned over to the supposed "enemy". I pray God protects him and his family.
