I'm most concerned about what the police thought was probable cause for pulling him over in the first place. Coming out of a house is hardly probable cause to search a vehicle and conduct a search by a drug sniffing dog. Why couldn't they call the supervisor when he requested that? If he were white, would the situation have escalated? Would he have been pulled over at all for leaving a suspicious house? DPD obviously didn't believe he was a paraplegic. To assume, from the very beginning of the event, that the person is a criminal is just plain wrong.

Does this all look terrible? Yes, but I have some questions. Did he have a handicap license plate? I did not see a sticker on his dash, also did not notice the hand controls for the vehicle that are necessary to operate the car. How did he get into the vehicle, where was his wheel chair and how was he going to get out once he got to his destination? Also, he had a prior for drugs and weapons and they offered to assist him in getting out, telling him they wanted to bring in a canine and that cannot be done with the driver in the vehicle. But the first thing he does is make a ruckus. Did they overreact? Definitely! They could and should have waited for a wheel chair to be brought to the scene. Do we even know if this guy IS paraplegic? The picture of him posted in a wheel chair with this woman, whoever that is, was posted AFTER the incident. Waiting for the “rest of the story”

ALL of the inuendo about an illegal drug purchase is not relevant to being YANKED and DRAGGED out of your car BY THE HAIR. Cops behavior is born of utter rage and lack of control. This is America NOT 'merica nor NAZI Germany. What is evident here is extreme use of force (against the law) not a drug deal. Maybe he did maybe he didn't make an "unlawful" drug purchase AND if proven his disability does not mitigate the consequence of that crime either. As a result of cops behavior, if he is guilty of illegal posession of illegal contraband, chances are their case will not come to fruition or will fail in the courtroom...tsk tsk tsk

Let’s state some facts for those who judged without reading:
1. He did not have his wheelchair in the car with him so they could not simply assist him into it
2. They did not find any drugs or guns in the car when they searched it. Sure they found large sums of money that is suspicious.
3. He was charged with misdemeanors that are not connected to drugs
4. He was not being non-compliant and it was the officer who kept egging the situation on
5. Even if they used force, why did they have to drag him out by his hair and slam him into the ground then use pressure on his back knowing he couldn’t do anything once he was out of the car?
6. The police will have a lawsuit our tax dollars will pay for because they injured him and re-injured a serious spinal injury

No. There is no rational reason to show the whole evidence here on the media. That picture is sufficient to show how racist cops handle blacks in the United States. The rest is for the Judge. It is a generational crime. Twenty score and one years ago the great great great great grandfathers of the abusive cops brought forth, on this continent, from Africa, in their slave ships, Bondsmen bound with heavy chains, hungry and bleeding from bruises made with the biting leash and the scourging lash, to toil in the fields, the rail roads, the mines and the cities, to build the largest Economy on the planet. The blood they gave under duress while they were yet slaves, continues to be demanded by some of the offspring and descendants of their cruel captors, even in the twenty-first century, more than a Century and a half since their emancipation was proclaimed........!

This just made me absolutely sick! This man repeatedly stated that he is a paraplegic, the moment that statement was made these officers should have called for a medical professional to come help safely get him out of the vehicle. Not once did I hear an officer ask if he had a wheel chair they could get to put him in, in order to remove him from the vehicle. Of course he was uncooperative, he was probably really scared because he couldn't defend himself if needed. There are right ways and wrong ways to handle situations like this and these police chose the wrong way. I cannot even put into words how disgusted I am at these officers and how much my heart just broke for this man.

I get they claim he was seen leaving a known drug house, they found no drugs. I get that he had a large sum of cash on him but that isn't a crime in itself. We can speculate all at want but that doesn't make any of it the truth and it certainly doesn't make what happened ok.

If you’ve ever had an ADA class you know not to touch a disabled person once they tell you no,Do not touch me. They should have called for medical assistance immediately.

Once he asked for a supervisor the officers should have complied.

He called someone he knew for help.. I would have too. After all the videos we’ve all been brow beaten and traumatized to watch with ppl being treated with excessive force and killed, I’d want camera footage and witnesses too. He was calling out for help, they pulled him out by his hair, threw him on the ground, put a knee in his back and cuffed him like he was fighting and resisting ..I seriously doubt he was about to run / escape.

No matter where they saw him supposedly leave from or if he had $1.00 or $20,000 dollars on him.. The officers handled this wrong.

My aunt was in a wheelchair and I grew up around people with of all sorts of physical and mental disabilities that she hung out with and did theater with. Thinking of any of the wheelchair bound ones being treated like this makes me sick. Knowing how careful you have to be with them as a lot of times they've had surgeries and injuries to their backs. God, this poor man. Where would they have even put him if they got him out? On the ground where he probably couldn't support himself in a sitting position? And to drag him away like that after cuffing him. The whole thing makes me so angry and so sick to my stomach.

He requested a white shirt. I'm guessing that's someone who could help him properly. He called for his friends to come help him out because he knew he couldn't trust these guys to get him out properly. And that cop lost his temper. He shouldn't be a police officer, he's a sorry excuse for a human being

Lets suppose the stop was legit, that he was seen driving from a known drug house. This still went wrong from there. I'm guessing they were correct that they don't want someone in a car when they have the dog check the car. When dude tells you he's paraplegic, will you call a supervisor. Ok take his keys and call in a supervisor he ain't gonna run. You sure af dont drag him out like they did..
Now to me it seems odd that you would just be carrying arround your $22,000 plus life saveings with you, but hey just because it's odd, it ain't illegal

Some of these LEOs have a “God complex”. They let their authority go to their head, thinking that the “my way or the highway” mentality is necessary in every situation. A good LEO should know when to exercise restraint. They got this guy stopped, he ain’t going anywhere. If the guy is paraplegic as he says, then he should have adaptive equipment on his car to control his acceleration and braking. Don’t you think a little more care could be exercised in getting him out of the vehicle?

Having said that l, it’s possible this guy wasn’t a saint, and seeing him come from a suspected drug house and subsequently finding a bag of cash should check the necessary boxes to know he wasn’t carrying around his savings for the hell of it.
