Kids I have heard want to being guns to school to defend themselves
And if you are constantly worried about that when you’re going to school you cannot focus on your studies
The ridiculousness of the republican party and people who want to own guns
Those people are the ones that should volunteer to guard the schools and the movie theaters and every public place everywhere for added protection
To make the world a safer place but I think that’s gonna be the Democrats job because the GOP do not listen

This is truly one of the saddest stories I've ever read! My heart and prayers are with the grieving families and the good people of Uvalde!
How one could not be moved to act on behalf of the families of these poor little children and enact reasonable gun laws such as universal background checks and the banishment of assault weapons is beyond me! We've just had 2 massacres in a short period of time, with now 19 little boys and girls and 2 of their wonderful teachers tragically cut down - no family should have to endure this kind of pain! And any legislator from any party who doesn't stand up to pass the necessary legislation should be thrown out of office, bags and baggage!
Rest in Peace, Amerie - you and your classmates deserved so much better!

This is no time to exalt one’s self politically for free advertising to steel the spotlight, and then to use this tragedy to do so… that’s so, and incentive … America , “it doesn’t change anything for the grieving family , let them heal and process this tragedy of great loss, “better yet , let the country heal, and process the shock of this tragedy of loss! America , it is not the time to point fingers at who is to blame or what is to blame.. The truth is there is , only one ️ person is to blame, and that is the young man who chose himself to carry out this tragedy , for what ever reason,”, that has now perished with him! It is time to heal!!

It’s crazy this country only cares when things like this happens. Stray bullets hit kids way more frequently across America in violent acts and no one sets up rally’s and calls for politicians to be held accountable. The 2nd amendment is a federal right, yet we allow states to vary on their laws governing that right. We revote the same politicians in because they represent the red or blue we align to, not their actions while in office and it continues. When it’s children being affected there needs to be faster actions to find solutions. Media will only display what they want… 9 yo shot playing in Woodbridge VA yesterday, not covered because it’s not part of the agenda.

Kenneth Simons The 2nd Amendment is not absolute,. Most Amendments aren't. And it is misunderstood. It seems some skip right over the "well regulated militia" part, and the intent of it.
When the 2nd Amendment was penned, we had NO standing army, and virtually no police. It was giving states the right to form militias for protection. Also guns then were muskets that took a minute to reload after every shot. That and modern weapons are apples and oranges.They are completely different.
No ordinary citizen needs guns that shoot 25 bullets a minute. They need to go. And there should be serious background checks, every time a gun changes hands. They should be registered, and gun owners should be required to have a license.
We are the only country going through this.
We should love our children and fellow citizens more than guns. THAT'S pro-life.

Anne Peterson Grasmick I takes .02-.07 seconds for one round to fire from a semi automatic weapon, you have to squeeze the trigger each time to fire one round, hints the term semi automatic not automatic completely different. You must be young and have forgotten the anthrax threats at schools and public places etc. or maybe the fentanyl crisis in schools including elementary that’s going on today. Or some kid taking a knife to school to fight off a bully. A knife to the right place can kill you quicker than a bullet to the head. Touch that fentanyl and your dead in seconds. It’s an uneducated and mentally challenged society with everyone turning a blind eye. It’s very sad. I am not being ridiculous. I am speaking a truth that should wake you up. Please do your research instead of arguing with me or anyone else about how ridiculous they are. Have a pleasant day.

Like I said those who are sane, trained, and authorized to have a gun should own one. Those who are not should not. We can only begin to fathom what that Father is going thru right now. He came on the scene to help as a first responder....and one of them was his young child???......something needs to be done, now! Jeanie LeBlanc Frederic And with HR 8, That would require a national registry, which is when it starts to infringe on the 2nd amendment. The last time a registry was tried, it was something like less than 1% of the estimated guns in the state that were registered. I lived in NY when the SAFE act was passed.... it immediately made 3 of my small squirrel rifles illegal because of grips/sights...
Like I said, an AR is not an assault rifle, and it is a great platform for hunting or home defense. The reality is, there is no difference between an AR15 and any other .223 hunting rifle.

Ken Campbell this is an American phenomenon. They aren't using bombs. Or cars or knives. They're using guns. That do a lot of damage in a very short amount of time. Why is this so prevalent in America. And what are Americans going to do about it? Turn their schools and grocery stores into armed camps? Turn their streets into the wild west? Have shoot outs everytime a bad guy with a gun wants to hurt people? Why on earth would a society want to be REACTIVE on this issue instead of PROACTIVE.? Stop them before it happens? This kid wanted to die. He intended suicide by cop. Good guys with guns won't be a deterrent to someone like that.
