Jason I noticed that you left off the President and the House majority that is Democrat plus a split Senate to take their part in this blame. They've been focused on far less important matters in this country, but you're stagnant response isn't surprising. You also realize why many mental health institutions were shut down in the 80s unless maybe you were one of those that was experimented on by getting abused, electrocuted, lobotomies, and so forth. You can pick and choose whatever hypocritical stance you would like to take, but you will not stop evil actions by individuals that have sick or twisted minds. They will find a way to get the same end-result whether it be driving a car down the sidewalk or making pipe bombs. We have loads of regulations on guns already. It works for the outstanding majority of citizens. These events are devastating and they shouldn't happen, as a gun owner myself, I cannot even fathom why anyone could resort to such senseless cowardice violence. I am a Firearm Enthusiast and a Second Amendment supporter.
I PROPOSE NATIONWIDE LAWS THAT REQUIRE:
• Universal Background Checks
• Private Sales that require National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) Approval
• Increase minimum age for purchasing firearms to 21 and 23 for AR and AK platforms
• All gun shows must also comply with NICS background checks and firearms shipped to customer after 7 day waiting period.
• Limit rifle purchases to one per quarter
• Mandated 7 day waiting period on all firearms
• Require a Proficiency and Safety 4-hour course to get a conceal or open carry license
• Require at least two notarized reference letters from peers attesting to your level headedness and being a stable, non-violent individual to the best of their knowledge every five years to maintain the carry license.
• Basic completion and of online psychological evaluation requiring a passing score.
• Permitting teachers of children of all ages that wish to conceal carry the ability to do so with a minimum 4-hour course in Active Shooter engagement presented by law enforcement
• Requiring schools to evaluate and beef up their structures to include a maximum of two entry points with armored doors, comprehensive CCTV systems.
• Requiring schools to have at least one, armed School Police Officer with AR-15 or equivalent rifle to match that of a possible armed assailant.
• Requiring schools to have Active Shooter preparedness and drills at least as often as they do fire drills.
• Government to donate to any parent that wants it, a backpack for their child lined with 3A level light armor which can be use in case of last resort to protect the child.
• Schools to designate 1 Fire Monitor for every 4 classrooms to step out and evaluate veracity of a fire hazard when a fire pull-station is activated. Thus, preventing an active shooter to use the fire system as a way to draw a large crowd of children to shoot at.
• Requiring school counselors and administrators to report to law enforcement any child that exhibits being a repeat offender of bullying, being victim of bullying and showing signs of depression, mental illness red flags of violence or talk about vengeance, hurting others.
• Requiring all social media platforms to set up systems that can quickly report to local authorities any person that makes threats of violence, suicide, or hurting others.
• Require parents of children identified by the school system as In-Jeopardy or At Risk to seek immediate and meaningful mental health measures and treatments for their children.
• Government should step in and provide school grants for providing professional help and assistance to parents seeking treatment for their at-risk children that are unable to afford it.

How the f do people watch this and think it’s ok to keep fighting for gun rights! The second amendment created a long long time ago. So if you want to live with that amendment then you need to go back and live like it is that time with no cars and no phones and no grocery stores, no hydro etc! Everything else has changed in life over the decades and so should this second amendment. and for those who keep fighting against gun reform I would like you to go home and line up your children in front of you and you and your wife decide which kid will no longer be part of the family and you will never see them again. Just imagine that just think about that. This father has a broken heart that will never heal and his family will never be the same again. And there is a lot of trickle down effect from shootings like this. People have mental health problems after they witnessed things like this. People get addicted to drugs after things like this. Marriages are broke up and families are divided because everybody’s pain is so difficult to process that it’s hard to live life.

CONGRESS NEGLECT OF DUTY TO PROTECT AMERICAN CHILDREN
Gun control is a waste of time, this has gone way above any gun control. This must be about fortifying the School Building with automatic lock doors and windows that are bullet proof. All classroom door and windows must have automatic locks that bullet proof doors, windows.
This is about MONEY paying to secure these schools.
Texas Governor Failed to protect those children.
The school obviously had no security to prevent anyone from entering the building, automatic locks would of prevented the killer to enter the building. Obviously money was the issue that did not pay to have these security measures in place. That falls on the Governor, city Mayor, School administrators to make sure those schools are safe.
No laws will prevent gun violence, only having the appropriate amount of security and security guards with the weapons to stop anyone even with body armour to enter any building.
HEY CONGRESS AND JOE BIDEN, MAYBE THE REASON WHY MASS GUN VIOLENCE IS NOT HAPPENING IN OTHER COUNTRIES IS BECAUSE CONGRESS GIVE OTHER COUNTRIES THE MONEY TO PROTECT THEIR CITIZENS.
